Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange issued a strong warning to the state government, stating that there will be serious consequences if elections proceed without addressing the Maratha community's demand for reservation. Jarange announced a large gathering at Narayangadh in Beed district during the Dasara festival and urged Marathas to participate in large numbers. He emphasized that he will not compromise on any demands, including the withdrawal of criminal cases against community members, and warned that the government would face backlash in upcoming elections if it ignores the Maratha community's demands. Stressing the importance of unity in fighting for reservation, Jarange highlighted that the issue goes beyond just reservation, as it involves dignity and equality for the Marathas who are facing challenges at the grassroots level. He criticized some members of the ruling party for creating obstacles and refusing to recognize the Maratha community as 'Kunbis' in order to grant them reservation within the existing OBC quota. While a definitive stance on the issue is awaited from various political parties, discontent among the Maratha community is on the rise due to the slow progress in resolving the matter by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government.
